Strategy Improvements

Working with social media is a dance between the person posting and the audience. A successful social media relationship takes flexibility, consistency, creativity and most importantly listening!

One of the biggest changes I made while at the Mall was a fundamental change
in how social media giveaways were done. Previously the giveaways were very
scripted, football oriented and very repetitive of previous years. Other
giveaways were random but required liking the page or tagging a friend.

Our audience wasn’t willing/interested in those giveaways and these posts
struggled to get even 20 comments. 

Many variables were tested to find the right day of the week, time of day,
type of participation required, giveaway prize, etc. for successful interaction
with the audience. 

 

I believe connecting with your customers/audience requires putting a face,
or many faces, on the company. By humanizing the company it allows customers to
connect and creates loyalty.

I have had great success improving employee morale through the highlighting of employees on owned channels. The employees not only get well-deserved recognition they also feel supported and rewarded for their hard work.
